Flat fees by home value.
No commission. Ever.

Included in every tier

One fee covers the whole protest.

Whether your tier is $149 or $349, you get exactly the same level of service. No upcharges, no add-ons, no “premium tier” that gets the better outcome.

  • Auto-filed Form 50-162 (Appointment of Agent) with the appraisal district
  • Notice of Protest filed with the appraisal review board before the May 15 deadline
  • Comparable sales analysis from MLS data and recent neighborhood transactions
  • Equity analysis comparing your assessment to similar properties on your street
  • Informal negotiation directly with the appraiser's office (where 70-80% of cases settle)
  • Full Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearing representation if needed — you don't attend
  • Email update with your final result, the dollar reduction, and your estimated tax savings
  • Complete evidence packet saved to your account for future reference
  • All communication with the appraisal district handled by us — no forwarding, no phone calls on your end
Why a flat fee, not a percentage

Property tax savings are your money.

Money the county would have taken if no one pushed back. Companies that take 25% of your savings are taking 25% of what was yours to begin with — every year, on every dollar, forever.

What 25% costs over time
On a typical $2,000 protest result:
Ownwell would keep $500
We charge $349 flat, regardless. You keep an extra $151 that year.
On a strong $5,000 protest result:
Ownwell would keep $1,250
We still charge $349. You keep an extra $901 that year.

The bigger your assessed value drops, the worse a percentage fee gets — and the better a flat fee gets. As your home appreciates each year, percentage fees rise with it. Ours doesn't.

Practical pricing details

Payment is one-time, charged when you sign up
We charge your card the moment you finish signup, before we file. There are no payment plans, no recurring charges this year, no surprise bills later.
If we don't reduce your assessment, you still pay the fee
We charge for the work, not the result. Our success rate is around 75-80% on residential protests, and even on the unsuccessful ones you get our full evidence packet for your records — which often helps in subsequent years.
Multiple properties, multiple fees
Each property gets its own Form 50-162 (legally required) and its own tier-based fee. If you have 3 properties at $250k each, that's $597 total ($199 × 3). For multi-property owners with more than 5 properties, contact us about volume pricing.
Renewal is at the same tier price
Each year your fee is set by the new assessed value, not last year's. If your home jumps from $250k to $400k, next year's fee is $349 instead of $249. See annual renewal for how renewal modes work.
Refund policy
We refund the fee in full if we cancel before filing your protest with the appraisal district (usually within the first 24-48 hours of signup). Once we've filed and put work into the case, the fee is non-refundable regardless of outcome.
Payment methods
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) via Stripe. We don't store your card information directly — Stripe handles all card data.
